Snowed Under!!

...with work that is. Sha is away till next week and i actually texted her yday to come back!! LOL! Now that she's not here my table is the only end of the conveyer belt from the bosses rooms and its not funny. Though I was given a sign last night when I was working late. Electricity to the whole block went off at 8pm. I had to pack up n leave eventho I still had so much to do!!

I also had to send of dear DD, my former dance teacher who has been around the last 10 days 'torturing' people with his workshops. Gosh he makes us laugh so much, we're so going to miss him. Dont know when he will be back again. *sniff sniff*


Oh I received my April SOMO kit....such soothing colours in line with the new 7 gypsies paper...sigh....wonder when I can start on it with my current workload. I'm also meeting a special guest from Singapore tomorrow and heading to the Miri Jazz Festival this weekend. Yay!!

Btw, I sort of cleared up my paper stash last week and I wanna give some stuff away so stay tuned here and u might be one of the lucky ones!

March SOMO Kit

I've been itching to use the March SOMO kit since I received it but as u understand, its so precious, I need to be sure I make an LO that I really like so here are my two attempts at the kit.....

Used one for a challenge where I had to scrap a B&W or Sepia photo...


And another which had to incorporate a quote. I chose "We do not remember days, we remember moments"


I know I'm not supposed to SB shop anymore but SC had this paper sale of 40% off on NSD n I couldnt resist. They had new BG, CI and SEI papers in....sigh....of course I ended up buying other stuff to...sigh. But I'm happy I got Lia her MU Punch!! Yay!! A Singaporean scrapper is visiting in a few days....so exciting!!

In the meantime I think i'm going to give SB shopping a break. I heard some scrappers have agreed not to do any SB shopping this month n to produce at least 10 LO's with their current stash...what a great idea!! Gals, if u read this, I totally support u!! WTG!!

SK Ultimate Scrapper

I'm flying for that title along with other wonderfully talented ladies (with much better internet connection) and its nerve racking i tell ya!! Its my first online active crop/competition and its got me on my toes 24/7. I even had trouble sleeping cos I couldnt stop thinking of ideas on what to do for my LO's....
Challenge #1 was to create an LO about ourselves without any photos
Challenge #2 was to create a 2 page LO with 10 photos and something in sequence i.e. months, numbers, years, alphabets, etc
Now I have to do a mini album for Challenge #3....yikes!!

BUT right now I'm jus going to pop by Shabby Chic to pick up something for Lia before I rush home to finish my next challenge....anyone want to cheer us on? Check out the forum here!

May Day!!

I feel like scrapping this lunch time....i dont know why the sudden urge....the other day I even took over H's bedroom floor (when he was out playing basketball) to scrap on the floor while watching (or rather listening) to American Idol...but I cleared up before he came home!!

I'm bored...I have lots of work to do in the office but I'm bored. I dunno y it feels like its Friday. On another note, I met up with DD my old dance teaacher yesterday! He is in Brunei for 10 days so I treated him to some Sheraton yummy food last night and should see him again tomorrow. He is aghast that I've stopped dancing....kekeke...

I've been blog hopping...as us mad scrappers do....especially during the beginning of the month when new challenges n announcements come up....a few things struck me and its something that I've discussed with a fellow scrapper before. We all scrap for preserving memories, the love of the craft (shopping), making scrapping friends etc. It is nice to get recognised once in a while n get yummy stuff in return for our creativity and efforts but its sad to see some people turn it into a competition. Personal feelings and politics come into the picture and sour what is a lovely hobby (and obsession). I'm glad to know that this doesnt happen in Brunei and I hope it never does. There are so many new scrappers out there and no matter how 'advanced' we are, we should always try to help promote n support this craft and not sully it with personal feelings or ambitions.

Anyway, that was my 2 cents worth...here is a little table decor I made for a friend. Her name is Winnie hence the "W".

No electricity or no water

Somehow H's house is no stranger to water/electricity cuts and last weekend there was no electricity for over 24 HOURS!! I was ok sleeping with no air-con but H could not sleep at all cos he has polar bear genes or something and needs the cold. Fortunately for him, electricity was back on by last night but I was already enjoying the comforts of the A/C back home by Sunday afternoon...keke.

I had a great time catching up with some of the gals and one of our ex classmates last Thur...i was supposed to only be with them for an hour then move on to a bday dinner but stayed on and didnt go for the bday till 10.30pm...opps!!

Friday saw me stuffing myself with the Sheraton seafood buffet...mmm....havent eaten so much in a LONG time!! Despite this I still didnt make my way to the gym over the weekend...LOL!!

Saturday's GHK Annual Dinner was really entertaining as they brought in this Singaporean lady who was quite a performer!! Shame the food was so slow and service not at its best. H was even drunk enough to take a pose-y picture together though it now means I have to bug him to get it off the official photographer. He knows everytime I get a good pic of us, I HAVE to scrap it!! LOL!!

Sunday was just absolutely lazy and for want of nothing to do while H went to play snooker with the boys, I got my nails done, indulged in Fun Donuts and read my chick lit and of course....zzz......its back to work now on a Monday...sighs...

All my good intentions of scrapping LOTS at the weekend went to mush with no electricity at H's but here is an LO I did for Create last week. We're supposed to reduce, reuse, recycle so I used a paper doiley from the bottom of my cuppa at my usual hangout one day and cut outs from a pizza box some of my scrapping goodies come in for the title. This LO documents a moment in our trip in KK where my "finger-happy" friend who was on a high of watching Korean drama series non-stop couldnt stop doing the "peace" cutsey pose all throughout the holiday. Looking at the sequence of photos where she went from 4 fingers to 2 to none still cracks us up!!
